Early Retirement Initiative
Mayor Holtzinger indicated that an independent review of the early retirement initiative did not conclude that there would be a loss of money for the city, but that there would not be as many savings as had been projected.  The review responded that the thirty year amortization should have been done on a shorter time frame like ten years.  He indicated that if the major and aldermen had known of this suggestion, they would probably not have voted for the generous thirty year amortization formula.  Jeff regretted that the anticipated savings would not be realized; but the administration had acted in good faith and that savings would be realized by continuing to monitor and hiring at the lower end of the scale.  If people come back from previous jobs, they must come back at the very bottom of the hiring scale.  

Worman’s Mill Town Center Project
Cora Alter stated that homes that only abutted the Town Center were notified of the Town Center planned changes.  She felt that all members in the community should have been notified.  The mayor agreed with the comment but stated that notifying everyone will be cumbersome.  However, he would explore the expansion of such information on the internet.  Cora indicated that communication to our Worman’s Mill Monitor would reach everyone.  Mayor Holtzinger stated that not all communities have such a communication vehicle and that it would be difficult to attain consistency with such communications.  However, he would explore using our Mill Monitor with the Planning Division.  

Traffic Diversions
John Lewis suggested that signs for big truck traffic diversion should be posted well in advance of approaching the traffic light at Route 26 and Monocacy Boulevard.  He thought that the signs should be posted down by the Frederick Brick Works building because postings at the CVS
